The Class 700/0 has just released on all platforms for Train Sim World 3.

Is it worth it though?

First stop: price.

The Class 700/0 is very reasonably priced at £13. Check your local price and any sales here.

Additionally, it is available in one bundle with SEHS, BR Heavy Freight, RHTT and ROG Class 37 for a maximum of £75, however it is currently only £44. Check your local price and any sales here. This bundle does not charge you for any other packs you already own, so if you own all of the packs except the Class 700 you effectively get it at about half price.

Next stop: gameplay.

Unfortunately, only the short 8-car unit is featured and only has services on SEHS between Dartford and Rainham. Every service is around 45 minutes long, which is reasonable, but Dovetail's refusal to even consider adding the 700 to BML is dissapointing to say the least. The only saving grace is the scenario planner which can somewhat fill this hole. I have not played this pack religiously, but I also doubt it would be than fun to constantly continue running back and forth between Dartford and Rainham.

Final stop: detail.

The in-cab experience is quite nice. Obviously not being a real 700 driver I don't know what it should sound like, but the general consensus of most players with such an experience is that it is also quite nice. Should you wish to ride as a passenger, the saloon is also very nice. The PIS is not true-to-life but a good imitation of such. Outside the cab however it is not as nice. The exterior of the train is well modelled, but drive-by sounds are lacklustre and the train looks too matte, with unit numbers streched.
