Just Trains have released their first route for Train Sim World 4 - Blackpool Branches, so what's it really like to play?
What's included?
Included is the route from Ormskirk to Preston and both branches from Preston to Blackpool North and South.
The rolling stock includes the long-requested Class 142 Pacer as well as recycled but upgraded Class 47 and Class 08 locomotives. The 47 comes in BR Large Logo and Intercity livery on top of the existing BR blue and the 08 has an additional unique livery on the local shunter at Blackpool North.
The Pacer is well made, it's as simple as that. Noticeably absent are the obvious flaws, bugs and other niggles that I seemingly never shut up about. Frustratingly however the 142 has no Raildriver compatability. The cab handset will announce upcoming stations when clicked, which is a nice touch.
The list of changes JT made to the 47 and 08 can be found here.
The route is well made too, with sufficient clutter and a heightened regard for quality. Three signal boxes are open and available to the player in on-foot mode, again, a nice touch.
Would I recommend this route?
Hell yeah!
Where does this route sit on the tier list?
S-tier, no question about it.
